Grenada – A Holiday of Pure Luxury

GrenadaMy Partner and I went on holiday to Grenada from the 10th September -  24th September and we stayed at the Grenada Rex Resort 3 * on an All Inclusive basis in a room with a sea view, the location was fantastic, it was a 10 minute walk from the airport in to the resort of St Georges and 3 minutes in a taxi to the main town centre where you can go on a Thursday to the local market and get all the local spices… you must haggle with them!

The Island is fantastic with a great picturesque harbour and back drop mountains; the island itself is very green that’s where it got its name from. While we were on holiday in Grenada we took a guided tour up to the fort where the island was first ever invaded and there is still bullet holes in the walls as a part of their history that they like to keep.

The island of Grenada is very hilly and I wouldn’t recommend it to people who have walking difficulties.

The hotel was great it was set on 2 beaches and was great for snorkelling.

Even though we took our holiday to Grenada in September when it was their rainy season it only rained 1 day and a few odd showers for 15 minutes for 3 days, it is very hot and I would recommend that you use at least factor 50 sun lotion.

Whilst we were there the mosquitos and flies were out, they are known for this being their biting season due to the humidity, so my advice is to take lots of repellent and sprays.

Pink Gin BeachThe island is beautiful with friendly people and the beautiful crystal clear sea and golden sandy beaches; it really is the most relaxing island we have ever been to.

Grenada is a holiday destination for everyone from honeymooners to single travellers to older families.

The currency is EC Dollars and US Dollars, we took EC Dollars as it is the most common form of currency.

To get a taxi into the main town it is approximately 10EC which equals to £2.50 so it’s very cheap for venturing out and about.

If you are looking for a long haul holiday with the days spent lying on the beach drinking cocktails and sight seeing; Grenada is the Caribbean Island for you
