I won’t lie my holiday started off to be the worst trip I could imagine. On landing in to Larnaca airport full of excitement and anticipation I could almost taste the strawberry daiquiri but the dream was short lived when I was the last one standing and no not at the bar, at the baggage re claim where everyone else had got their suitcases and there ‘s me clutching my cowboy hat with no suitcase.

I stayed at the Anesis Hotel in Ayia Napa and had a lovely spacious room and the only downside was the view of the Car Park. I would recommend paying for a view of the pool if you visit the Anesis as the pool, bar and restaurant at the hotel are all great and the location is one of the best for a 3 * hotel in Ayia Napa.

Ayia Napa has changed since my last visit 4 years ago it has grown considerably. There are more trendy bars and restaurants, so If you like a bit of sophistication before you move on up to the square then this really is the place to go. The square has not changed a bit, all the old favourites are there including Bedrock and Castle Club along with constant stalking on your approach by the bar reps offering you 2 for 1 offer’s and free shots but it pains me to say you are best accepting one of these offer’s as you get served quicker and if you haggle with them you can usually get an extra shot or 2 out of them.

A holiday in Cyprus is not the cheapest of destinations you will end up spending the same on a night out in Ayia Napa as you would back home here in the UK but don’t let this put you off as there is so much to do during the day and night and it’s worth that bit extra. I would definitely recommend going Half Board if you like to go out most nights as this guarantees all your spending money can be spent on your choice of activities on offer. If you choose to go self catering there is plenty of restaurants, fast food bars and mini markets to choose from.

The water park in Cyprus is still amazing one of the best in Europe in my opinion and drop to Atlantis has to be my favourite ride. Nissi beach is a must but go early as the beach gets busier as the day goes on but the crystal blue water’s and white sand is just what you need for a tan relaxing day and there are numerous water sports on offer and a few beach bars to sample.

Holidays in Cyprus has always been a firm favourite with me I have stayed in most resorts but Ayia Napa will still remain my favourite as it has everything a lively holiday needs. I would recommend the Anesis hotel and Ayia Napa if you are looking for a fun in the sun holiday.

I was not sure what to expect from this hotel after reading some comments on the website. But I was very pleasantly surprised with everything the hotel offered.

The Rooms were excellent; I stayed in the leading room category which was a Deluxe Room. This room had everything you would expect from a 5star hotel and more. for example: very large beds, huge bathroom with separate shower and bath,
A nice seating area, 24 hour room service, and a large balcony or terrace.

I was lucky enough to see the hotels Suites, there are 100 of these luxurious rooms. The rooms in my opinion were slightly larger and more contemporary with more hidden touches.
These rooms are perfect for families & couples who want some privacy whilst they are on holiday.
The bathrooms were slightly larger with a walk-in rain shower and a larger bath tub.
21 of these suites offer the choice of private pool, or Jacuzzi.

The outdoor pool was large and had plenty of sun beds throughout the day. I have stayed in a few 5 star hotels and sometimes struggled with getting a good sun lounger, but this didn’t seem to be a problem at the hotel. There was also a good spot around the pool no matter what time of day.

The food at the hotel was the best I have ever experienced; I loved the fact that there was so much variety especially with the Half Board option.
The hotels main restaurant is called the Eleonas restaurant; this is an all day restaurant offering buffet style breakfast, lunches and evening meals with occasional live entertainment. The food here again varied in choice. I am a vegetarian and found they catered very well for me.

We had a meal in the Leander restaurant which is a Euro – Asian restaurant. We all agreed the food in this restaurant was the best we experienced all weekend.
You have to try the lobster bisque which was a firm favourite with us all. The menu is quite pricey but you certainly get what you pay for.

One night i experienced the Greek restaurant, again very satisfactory, delicious food and great Greek live Music in the background. They have just opened the outside seating area for the summer and I feel will be very popular with families and groups.
There is an 18- Hole golf championship Course, which spreads over 6,299 metres, and this surrounds the hotel. Fantastic for beginners also.
All in all the hotel could not be faulted in any way.

If you are looking for somewhere to relax and be spoilt then a holiday in Cyprus is a great choice.
Transfer time: Paphos 20 Minutes and Larnaca 1 Hour
